St Vincent’s Private Hospital Werribee
St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHW) will extend its trusted, state of the art health care services to areas west of Melbourne when it opens the doors of a new private hospital and aged care facility in 2017.
SVPHW will provide health services for up to 16,000 patients living and working in Wyndham, one of Australia's fastest growing municipalities.
Services available in the 112-bed private hospital will include orthopaedic, obstetrics, cardiology, ear nose and throat, plastic and reconstructive surgery, oncology, gynaecology, general surgery and rehabilitation. Facilities will include six operating theatres, a day procedure unit, a cardiac catheter laboratory, 4 delivery suites and a level 2 special care nursery.
The new aged care facility will be home to 80 residents with dementia and low, high and respite care needs, as well as residents who are financially disadvantaged.
Investing in care services
St Vincent’s Health Australia (SVHA) purchased the land in Werribee in 2012 and estimates the total investment in this new facility will be $95 million - $75 million for the establishment of the hospital and $20 million for the 80-bed aged care facility.
The two projects will create full-time employment for around 350 staff as well as additional contract staff involved in the design and development of the projects.
The East Werribee site
Our new facility is located at 240 Hoppers Lane within the East Werribee Employment Precinct – a 700-hectare site between Geelong and Melbourne. With residential, light industrial and commercial projects planned, this area will become a significant health, education and employment precinct.

Planning a health care facility
Construction of the new facility is under way. The buildings are multi-storey, contemporary, structures designed with its purpose in mind while remaining sympathetic to the site.
Raising project funds
SVHA has raised a significant portion of the cost of building the new hospital. The Invest in the Health of the West Capital Appeal Campaign is aiming to raise approximately $10 million dollars from business, philanthropic and community support.
St Vincent's Private Hospital Werribee welcomes support for the Capital Campaign.
